It was the home of famous and infamous figures of history, the legendary "Don Juan" started out from here to conquer the hearts of women across all Europe, while Columbus started from a port close to Seville to discover a new world. When you visit this city, you are in the very heart of Andalusian culture, the center of bullfighting and Flamenco music.

How to get the best out of your Spain hire car

Seville is home of the Europe´s biggest Cathedral and its adjacent minaret, La Giralda, converted from a destroyed mosque after the Christian Spaniards cleared out the Moorish invaders in the late 1400s. Among the many sights of the city are la Torre del Oro, the Old Jewish Quarter, Reales Alcazares, Plaza de Toros and la Plaza de España.

Apart from magnificent scenery, amazing horseman and great architecture, the best thing about Andalusia is the food. And you can drive all day from one bar, to another restaurant to another little seaside town, to anything you want to eat, really. Andalusian food is heavily influenced by the Arab cooking of Al-Andalus.

So,the basis is, vegetable and pulse stews, the using those with game dishes, together with the different fish dishes. The best known Andalusian dish, famed for its nutritional value as well as ease of preparation, is gazpacho, a tomato-based cold soup containing cucumber, pepper, garlic, oil and vinegar.

Other Andalusian dishes include: gachas (pancakes) from Almeria, the sardinas (grilled sardines) from Málaga, the excellent seafood from Cádiz, the rabo de toro (bull’s tail) typical from Córdoba or the huevos a la flamenca from Seville. Andalusia is also famous for quality cured meats such as jamón de Jabugo (cured ham) considered the best in Spain, excellent olive oil and sherry that comes from Jerez de la Frontera. Sweetmeats are also remarkable such as cabello de angel (angel´s air) and borrachos (drunkards).

"Drive in MacDuff, another restaurant awaits"!

You can pick up a vehicle, for that's the best way of to get round all that food, at our locations in Seville listed above.
